WORKSHOPS

Dave Weirdigan has been leading workshops on LEDs for more than five years.

For workshop dates, click here.

Dave is a qualified teacher. He devised and has been delivering workshops in wind and solar power for the Alternative Technology Centre in West Yorkshire since 2001.

The standard LEDfantastic workshop lasts 2 to 3 hours and consists of an introduction to LEDs, with a chance to look at the latest devices and bulbs and a short bit of theory (30 - 40 minutes in total). This is followed by a practical session in which participants have the chance to build their own LED reading light/ torch/ fairy lights/ spotlight to take away with them.

Workshops are aimed at adults but are suitable for children (above the age of 7 or thereabouts) as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult.

If you are lucky, someone else is doing the organisation and you can just turn up – check out 'Come to a Workshop'.

Alternatively, get a few people together and book LEDfantastic to come to you.
Its usually viable if we can expect a group of at least 10.

You will need a suitable venue, with enough space & some tables to work at.

We are usually prepared to run workshops on a pay-for-the-kit-you-use basis, plus travel expenses. If you can fit in as part of one of tours the expenses will usually be less.

If you would like us to bring a 15' octagonal tent and all the equipment & solar power needed to run the workshop for up to 20 participants at a time (possibly as many as 4 workshops a day for up to three days...) then please drop us a line.  We especially enjoy providing workshops at Festivals of all descriptions.

So very impressed that you got this together – 10/10 for the workshop – really answered all the questions I had.  The operation & execution is remarkably impressive. Thank You!
