Weirdigans

Seven years ago I joined Em in her new venture, Weirdigans (travelling) Organic Cafe.  It was welcoming and cosy in the daytime, but at night was a deep, dark hole.
Sometimes we'd pay an extortionate price for an electric hook-up and use a 400w string of coloured lights, but mostly there'd be candles, lanterns and gloom...
Enough of this, said I, can I have the money we'd spend on a hook-up to invest in these new things I've come across instead?  The rest is history...

Jump to today... we usually tour with a tent for acoustic music performance, one for customers to chill out in and a kitchen tent for, well, cooking in....  In the dark of night, with the music playing loud enough to be heard above the din, the kitchen ablaze with work lights, we use less than 60 watts...  we're powered by a small solar array and 400 amp hours of battery capacity...
